SFH6 GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC PATHWAY: STUDYING 3 0R 4 A/AS COURSES

Minimum point score at GCSE of 38 including Maths and English at grade 4. This is broadly equivalent to 4B and 4C grades overall at GCSE. Students will also need to achieve the subject specific criteria.

APPLIED PATHWAY: STUDYING VOCATIONAL/BTEC LEVEL 3 COURSES

Minimum point score at GCSE of 30 including Maths and English at a 4, for some courses Maths at a 3 may be acceptable. This is broadly equivalent to 5C grades and 3 D Grades at GCSE. Students will also need to achieve the subject specific criteria.

VOCATIONAL LEVEL 2 PATHWAY: (This is a 1 year programme and places are limited)

Minimum point sore of 12 at GCSE. This is broadly equivalent to 4 D grades.

GCSE MATHS AND ENGLISH       

All students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will be expected to join a resit class.


Please Note:

  • Most subjects have additional entry requirements as outlined in the course booklet
  • Most, but not all, A level subjects are now assessed at the end of the two year course. Please see the course booklet for details.
  • To progress from AS to A2 or on to the second year of an A level course you will need to have achieved a minimum of a D grade in at least 3 subjects. 
  • To progress on to the second year of a level 3 vocational course students are expected to have completed all units to at least a Merit grade by the end of the first year of the course.
