Extra-Curricular

Camp Botswana

This year we will be running the Camp Botswana Programme in school again after last summer’s exciting trip was such a success. Students have the chance to fund raise in order to take part in the trip to Botswana at the end of Year 12. When there students will develop resilience and life skills whilst meeting peers from local communities with the chance to forge lifelong friendships. Students will explore the environment and wildlife of Botswana and develop teamwork and problem solving abilities through this amazing adventure.

History & Politics Trip - Washington, USA July 2025

Report by Lana Stevens Y13

The Washington trip was from the 7th- 11th July. We stayed in the Hyatt hotel, which was clean and provided exactly what we needed for our trip. We visited many places key to the political and historical context of Washington and the whole of the USA. Each one enhanced and bought to life what we had studied in the classroom the year before. To name just a few, we went to the US Capitol, the Library of Congress, The National Museum of American History, The White House visitor centre and the Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Out of the whole trip, I especially enjoyed the constant immersion in the American culture, and learning what similarities and differences we shared. I would enjoy visiting America again, perhaps another state where I can see the differences between how they live in Washington compared to elsewhere in the country.
